We have since discovered that this photograph appeared as a small news item in the Hinckley Times on 27 May 1988, showing that Statham’s Shoes were to sponsor the village’s under 15 cricket team for the upcoming season. Mike Dixon, a director of Stathams, is showing one of the shirts to the under 15s Manager, Roger Watson.
